The Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida provides a number of educational events throughout the year. Join them for a Town Hall Meeting or free Lunch and Learn and Coalition Meeting. They also invite you to join them as a volunteer at Drug House Odyssey, where you can impact the lives of over 2,000 fifth graders over the course of three days. This real-life depiction about the dangers of underage drinking and drinking and driving. This walk through play is a great opportunity to talk to your kids. The event takes place on January 31st from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lee County Civic Center, 11831 Bayshore Road North Fort Myers, FL United States.
Since it’s founding in 1989 by Jim Nathan, Sheriff Mike Scott and a group of local leaders, the Lee County Coalition for a Drug-Free Southwest Florida has worked to provide prevention resources to families in Lee County. Prevention events include Drug House Odyssey, Red Ribbon Week Celebrations, Town Hall Meetings and Lunch and Learn Educational Events. Their Goal is to Mobilize 12 sectors of the community, including: Youth, Parents, Businesses, Media, Schools, Youth Serving Organizations, Law Enforcement, Faith Based Community, Civic and Volunteer Groups, Health Care Professionals, State, Local or Tribal Agencies, and Other Organizations Involved in Reducing Substance Abuse.
