Our special guest is Margie Haber, author of How to Get the Part Without Falling Apart. This book is the answer to every actor’s audition prayers. Acting coach Margie Haber has created a revolutionary phrase technique to get actors through readings without stumbling over the script. The book helps actors break through the psychological roadblocks to auditioning with a specific, 10-step method for breaking down the scene. Actors learn to prepare thoroughly, whether they have twenty minutes or two weeks. With a client list that includes Halle Berry, Brad Pitt, Kelly Preston, Heather Locklear, Vince Vaughn, Téa Leoni, Josie Bissett, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Laura Innes, and Tom Arnold, among others, Haber encourages and leads the reader through the audition process with helpful and oftentimes humorous examples. Includes script excerpts, audition stories from today’s hottest stars, and tips from top industry professionals.
Margie Haber is known as Hollywood’s top audition coach. She began her career as an actor before becoming a coach. Margie’s philosophy empowers actors to create strong ‘characters’ for both auditions and booked roles. And whether that is on TV, film or stage. It’s about finding your own power in the lives you create. For more than twenty years, she has taught many of Hollywood’s rising stars at her own Margie Haber Cold Reading Workshops in Los Angeles. Ms. Haber also holds ongoing workshops in San Francisco and New York, as well as seminars in other cities nationally and worldwide.
Margie Haber has always given her all to her students. It was while teaching at the Lee Strasberg Institute in the 1970’s that she noticed actors were confident at scene study but struggling with the audition process. Using her past experience as a speech therapist combined with her acting experience Margie developed the internationally recognized Haber Phrasing™. A 10-step instinctual approach to cold reading and auditions.
The Margie Haber Studio opened in 1986 and just a few years later, two of Margie’s clients, Brad Pitt and Michael Easton, wound up testing for the same role in the film “Thelma & Louise“. That was Pitt’s career breakthrough role and she’s helped thousands of other actors do the same ever since.

For over three decades, students have attended her Stop Acting and Start Living the Life workshop in cities across the globe. Including Indonesia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, Atlanta, and New York City.
In 2015, she coached and associate produced the feature film, Bravetown, (starring Josh Duhamel, Lucas Till, Laura Dern, and Maria Bello). She also recently produced and starred in Hollywood Trials, a Docu/Reality TV series about Margie starring Emmett Scanlan for RTE network in Ireland.
